As usual, Greek Independent Day, celebrating the Greek war of 1821 against the Ottomans, was celebrated throughout Greek diaspora communities.
In Sydney, thousands of Greeks and onlookers of all different backgrounds flooded the street to check out this years Independence Day parade. Members of Sydney’s Hellenic community demonstrated their Greek pride marching in the parade waving both Australian and Greek flags high in the air.
