The Hellenic Initiative (THI) Australia has given a donation to Desmos Direct, Greece’s online donation platform in order to give the organization a major upgrade which enables it to help even more people in need.
Desmos Direct was created in 2012 and has since helped as many as 700 social welfare organizations by means of donations from 260 companies and thousands of individuals. The money raised has gone to over 330,000 beneficiaries and has provided services that total an amount of over $4 million.
The grant to the organization by THI will help Desmos Direct be able to continue expanding their outreach to provide food, clothing, furniture, school equipment, medical supplies and other goods and services.
“We are pleased to be continuing our partnership with Desmos in 2016-17 as part of our crisis relief program, with a grant of $17,400 for Desmos Direct,” the president of THI Australia, Nick Pappas said to neoskosmos.com.
Desmos Direct has become a valuable donation service that has been steadily embraced by donors and welfare organizations dealing with the impact of the economic crisis in Greece,” he added.
