The first Goody’s Burger House restaurant in Australia will open soon on the ground floor of the newly built Greek Cultural Centre in downtown Melbourne.
The Greek community of Melbourne confirmed that the best offer for the ground floor of the building was from the well-known Greek restaurant chain of the Greek Hospitality Group Vivartia S.A., according to fortunegreece.com.
Vivartia made the deal with Mediterranean Fast Casual Restaurants Ltd led by Greek Australian businessman Kostas Tagalakis. The deal provides for the opening of ten Goody’s restaurants in Australia within the next five years.
Goody’s S.A. was found in 1975 in Thessaloniki by Ioannis Dionisiadis, Achilleas Folias and Nikolaos Pappas. It is now part of Vivartia S.A. and operates 153 stores in Greece, Cyprus, Albania, Belarus, FYROM with plans to expand to Bulgaria, Libya and Egypt as well. It employs 6,500 people in Greece.
