Greek-Australian Tom Koutsantonis is expected to be promoted within the new minority government that will be formed by the Labour Party in South Australia.
After the support of independent MP Geoff Brock, who will take over the Ministry of Regional Development, State Premiers Jay Weatherill received a mandate to form the new Labour government.
Weatherill is expected to pledge his allegiance later today before announcing the formation of his government. Tom Koutsantonis will most likely be promoted to Treasurer within the new government.
The Greek-Australian politician, despite the shift that occurred at the expense of the Labour party in recent state elections, managed to increase his own ratings and win the seat by more than 60%.
In the previous Labour Party government, Koutsantonis was Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Minister for Mineral Resources and Energy and Minister for Housing and Urban Development.
