Greek Orthodox churches will be conducting liturgies every Sunday and throughout the Orthodox Holy Week behind closed doors.
This has been the practice already in place following the general rules implemented by Australia’s government in its efforts to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
These rules treat all shrines as ”places of work,” so the social distancing measures should be respected there as well.
Additionally, the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople has suspended all church ceremonies and events from March 18.
